My Dear Lively Lila

How precious are your thoughts concerning me, O God!
How vast in number they are!
Psalm 139:17

Как возвышенны для меня помышления Твои, Боже, и как велико число их!
Псалтирь 139:17

BOTANICAL NOTES

Scentara Double Blue Lilac
05 may 2025
a very perfumy little day

If you look closely, you may see this lovely is not embellished with the more typical four petal blooms, but instead her blooms range from 8-15 petals, almost as tiny little seashells. I also read that she’s a hyacinthiflora lilac, making her one of the most fragrant lilacs, which I can confirm, because currently the bitty balcony garden is as one giant perfume bottle. ◡̈

For longer lasting cut lilacs, keep them in a cool place away from direct sunlight, arrange them in a glass container (I have them in glass vase inside the enamelware), and add one tablespoon sugar and two tablespoons fresh lemon juice to cool water. Change this lemon water out daily.
