Lemon Sesame Crisps
Equipment
- 1 piping bag or zip bag with hole cut in corner
Ingredients
- 5 large egg whites
- 65 g powdered sugar 1/2 cup
- 118 mL vegetable oil 1/2 cup
- 42 g all-purpose flour 1/3
- 213 g raw sesame seeds 1 1/2 cups
- zest of half lemon optional
Instructions
- Beat egg whites until bubbly, add powdered sugar and beat until dissolved.
- Beat in oil and sifted flour, mix well.
- Stir in optional lemon peel.
- Stir in sesame seeds.
- Preheat oven to 176C/350F and line baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Fill piping bag (or zip bag with small cut corner). Squeeze out batter onto parchment making circles, approximately 1 inch apart.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes until golden.
- Cool and serve with optional pressed flowers, which can be held in place with a little lemon and powdered sugar glaze.
Notes
If you prefer, add lemon zest only to glaze.
These can also be prepared savory with just a few ingredients swapped.
